This is an FBI FD-302 interview report, dated October 2023 (date of entry), documenting a September 2023 incident at a U.S. test site. The document records an FBI Special Agent's Facetime interview with a U.S. citizen who, along with several colleagues, observed an aerial phenomenon while driving to a LiDAR testing location. The witness described a stationary bright white light on the horizon that moved to the right and disappeared within approximately ten seconds. The group was traveling in three vehicles. The witness estimated the object was ten to twenty miles away and noted no vehicle interference.
The document is notable for heavy redactions throughout — all names of witnesses, agents, and locations are withheld. The "metallic bronze" description referenced in the record's metadata does not appear in the surviving OCR text, suggesting additional content may be missing or on redacted pages. The witness's own tentative explanation was a meteor burning up in the atmosphere. The report is two pages and represents a routine witness interview format; no physical evidence or instrumented data from the LiDAR equipment is referenced.
